Our Spaces
-
A vocal booth’s(isolation booth) purpose is to record a solo voice or instrument. A common misconception about vocal booths is that they should have 100% of their walls and ceiling with acoustic material. We recommend about 50-80% coverage depending on the type of booth. For example a both designed for vocals or voice over can obtain a natural sound with 50% coverage, cleaning up recordings without leaving the room sounding dead.
-
An important characteristic of a multi-purpose room is proper acoustic treatment. A room with concrete walls, drywall, and fiberboard furniture is prone to high sound reflectivity. Placing sound absorption material in the right locations is necessary to getting the space sounding natural.
-
Large classrooms can be challenging especially when it comes to speech intelligibility. Addressing the reverberation time(I.e., the amount of time it takes an original sound signal to drop 60 decibels) of the entire room can be costly. The recommended RT range in a classroom is 0.4-0.6 seconds. Most classrooms have an RT of 1 second or higher making speech, and especially music more difficult to distinguish and hear clearly.
Why a Hybrid room?
To increase speech intelligibility and improves student comprehension
To creates a more comfortable learning environment by lower noise in the classroom
To accommodate Students with hearing or learning disabilities
To Lessen ambient noise and reduce vocal stress for the teacher and students
